CHC43415 - Certificate IV in Leisure & Health

 

This qualification reflects the role of workers participating in the design, implementation and evaluation of leisure, health activities and programs for clients in one or more tsecor areas. Workers may be in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centres, completing specialised tasks and functions in relation to leisure and health. While workers are responsible for their own outputs, work is carried out under direct or indirect supervision within defined organisation guidelines.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

The Certificate IV in Leisure & Health addresses the requirements to work primarily in residential facilities and supporting care roles within the community services sector, under direct supervision or regular supervision within clearly defined organisational guidelines and service plans. It will equip you to capably and skillfully undertake a range of tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Activities relating to maintaining an individual’s well being through personal care and/or other activities of living;
  • Services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups of older people;
  • Support to promote independence and community participation;
  • Reporting to service managers and liaising with professionals and other service providers;
  • Ability to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers.
